Question:
Hi, I cant find any technical documentation on either of these. Do you have any technical documentation which would state somewhat more detail than just 1,000 psi and for Drum Brakes? For example response time, max brake fluid displacement, dc pump wattage, etc.? Without that, how would I decide between the two? Which one would you recommend? Thanks, Dexter EOH Drum, 1000 psi # K71-650 vs. Hydrastar EOH Drum 1000 psi # HBA-10

Helpful Expert Reply:
With our experiences installing and using the various electric over hydraulic actuators out there the consensus is that the Hydrastar actuators have the quickest response time and are the most reliable. All of our installers when asked will say that the Hydrastar is the way to go. While that's not technical info like you mentioned it's real world experience that you'd be able relate better to.
So the # HBA-10 is for up to two axle trailers that are rated for up to 7,000 lb axles (each). If the trailer has 8k axles or was a triple axle setup you'd instead want the part # HBA-12 which is rated for higher 1,200 psi. Either solution would be what I would recommend over the Dexter # K71-650.
