  • Electric over Hydraulic Disc Brake Conversion for 7,000 lb Nev-R-Lube Axles
For your 2010 Jayco Designer with 7,000 lbs Nev-R-Lube axles we have several disc brake options that will fit. The weld on flange bracket that you mentioned is only necessary if there is not a flange on the axle, since your's has a 5 bolt design, it's already installed. There are 3 potential sizes of lug studs that mount the wheel and tire, 1/2", 9/16" and 5/8", so you want to check the size so you can use your current wheels and lug nuts. All of the kits will give you a 8 on 6 1/2" bolt...

  • Will A Dexter 8,000 Pound Disc Brake Kit Fit A Dexter 7,000 Pound Axle?
Typically, a 7,000 pound and 8,000 pound axle will not only use different bearing combinations, but the bolt pattern for the backing plate or caliper bracket will also be different. The 8,000 pound Dexter Disc Brake Kit # K71-635-91 will us a # 25580 inner bearing, a # 02475 outer bearing, and uses a 4 bolt pattern. If your axle doesn't match this, you will need to go with a 7,000 pound kit. If it does match, you are good to go. If you end up needing a 7,000 pound kit, I recommend the...

For your 7000 lb Dexter Nev-R-Lube axles, your bearings will be 50 mm. The kits you referenced will not be compatible with your axles. You will instead use the Dexter Disc Brake Kit - 12-1/4" Hub/Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - E-Coat - 8K - Nev-R-Lube # K71-646-2-90. This will give you 9/16 inch lugs as well as the correct nuts so you won't need to change your wheels. The Nev-R-Lube axles require that you only use their hubs and bearings versus the traditional tapered bearings and races like...

  • Replacement 7k Disc Brakes for Kaufman Trailer
The 7,000 pound Kodiak disc brakes, part # K2HR79E, will fit your spindles but we've actually learned from Kodiak that their 7k disc brakes have issues with Kaufman trailers because of the wheels that Kaufman uses. Apparently, those wheels are made so that the center plate that has the mounting holes is welded on the inside of the wheel instead of the outside and it interferes with Kodiak's calipers. Technically, the brakes work on the trailer but you'll need different wheels. Another...
