Question:

HI, I have a 2018 Ram 2500 with the 6.4 Hemi engine. I would like to leave the tailgate down in order to haul my Harley about 900 lbs. I have a 26ft travel trailer with a load leveler. Is this possible and what do I need to purchase to make this happen? Thank you in advance for the help

I do have options for you but the traditional hitch extenders like the Hitch Box Extension and Reducer part # RP45292 that you are looking at will reduce your towing capacity too much to be used with your trailer most likely. Therefore, the best option I have is a weight distribution system with an extended shank, the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank part # EQ90-02-4600 and the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System part # EQ37121ET.

I understand you may not need weight distribution but the four point sway control will be a nice added bounce. If you already have a system then you can just swap out the shank as most are cross compatible. The only other option I have for you is to use the TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum Trailer Hitch Receiver part # TLD1109-30 with a TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension like part # TLE1521 and one of the Replacement 2-1/2" to 2" Adapter Sleeve part # TLM9006.
