1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Today, we can take a look at this Americana 15 inch by five AMO3 Series Black Machine Aluminum Trailer Wheel with the five on four and a half inch bolt pattern. Now this is an aluminum wheel. It's very durable, lightweight and rustproof. As we mentioned, it's the a AMO3 Series Wheel, which is an open five spoke design in a nice black finish.
And if you notice, it has the machine silver face on the spokes to provide a nice bold sleek look. The black finish on the wheels is a glossy finish, and they use a clear coating on both the front, and the back of the wheel to protect the finish. Few dimensions on the wheel, the diameter on this wheel is 15 inches, and that's always measured inside to inside. So if we take our tape measure, and if we go across inside-inside, there's your 15 inch diameter. And then the width on this is also gonna be measured inside-inside or bead seat to bead seat, and you're looking at five inches wide.
Now the bolt pattern on this wheel, as you can see, it's a five on four and a half inch bolt pattern. And if you wanna measure that on a wheel, it's an odd number of lugs. In this case, it's five. As you notice, the lug holes do not go across from each other, so it's a little bit harder to measure. But the easiest way to do it is just pick any one of the holes, let's say this one, and then you're gonna measure across to either one of these holes.
But when you measure, it's from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of the hole that you measure to. So on this, if we measure center, the furthest edge is gonna measure four and a half inches. So this is a five on four, and a half inch bolt pattern. It does use a wheel lug size of a half inch by 20, and the weight capacity on this wheel is 2,200 pounds. Now one of the nice features I like on this, if you look inside the lug nut wells here you'll see the steel inserts that they put in there, and that's designed to help keep the wheel securely in place on the trailer hub.
When you put your lug nuts in there, and tighten them down, prevents the holes from elongating or wearing down, and it also eliminates the need for constant re-tightening of your lug nuts. If you notice the center cap is not included. If you do want one, we do sell those separately on a website. When you purchase one to fit, you wanna make sure it has the diameter at of this pilot hole. because when you install your cap it'll go in through this hole. The diameter on this pilot hole is 3.19 inches. Now this wheel does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation specifications, and the SAEJ 25 30 standards. But that's gonna do it for the review on this Americana 15 inch by five inch AM03 Series Black Machine Aluminum Trailer Wheel.

The wheels got here really fast and was packaged well! They were just what we needed and very happy with the whole process!

Really like the look and fit, but the manufacturer needs to seriously work on the way that these are being packaged. Other reviews stated the same, but I figured it was a rare occurrence…Apparently not..Both rims are severely scratched due to the lack of inner packaging and the fact that the put everything together with sharp staples that during shipment play a serious toll on the finish. Love the rims and they were priced right, but scratched up rims due to such a simple mistake is not acceptable.
The wheels are what I expected unfortunately one of them is all scratched up. It is clearly the way it was packaged. The internal piece of cardboard that was placed inside the box was put in wrong so the staples that held it in were able to run on the facing of the wheel. It's not really a huge deal as I will be ordering another one as a spare but I'm having them mounted tomorrow and leaving town so I can't wait for another one yet.

Amazing fast shipping
Great upgrade for my daughter’s travel trailer. Her RV came from the factory with 14” load range D tires. I ordered these 15” rims and some load range G tires for her so she wouldn’t have soft sad tires on her new RV which would eventually explode and damage it.
Haven’t used the wheels yet. I need lug nuts for these though
