Question:
If I run a weld bead on the arms connected to vehicle will that increase my tongue weight more than just using the bolt on application? Thank you for your time.

The Draw-Tite custom fit hitch part # 75908 for the 2016 Kia Sorento max tongue weight capacity is up to 500 lbs. The tongue weight rating does not change if you weld the hitch to the vehicle's frame. The hitch may be rated up to 5,000 lbs gross towing weight but the Kia Sorento is not rated for that much weight.
I researched the owner's manual for the Kia and it depends on the engine and if the vehicle was equipped with a towing package as to how much tongue weight it can handle. The highest tongue weight rating is 350 lbs and that is if your Kia is equipped with the towing package and has the 3.3 liter engine so you do not want to exceed that. It is a good idea to check your owner's manual to see how much tongue weight you can tow with the engine in your Kia.
If you need wiring and do not have the factory tow package I recommend Tekonsha wiring harness part # 118583. If the Kia has the tow package, I recommend Hopkins part # HM11143965. I have attached videos of both installations.
