Question:
I have a flat 4 on my trailer. I would like to add amber directional light in the rear to only work when the directional is in use. I don’t want the amber to go on when I apply the brakes. Can you help

Yes it is possible to add a separate amber directional light to the trailer using part # 118158. Most trailers use a 2-wire system. One wire for the running lights on the trailer and the other wire is for the brake/turn signals.
You can use the taillight converter to convert the 2-wire system to a 3-wire system by separating the wire for the brake/turn signals to add a seperate amber turn signal light. You want to splice the tail light circuits on the trailer with the green and yellow wires coming from the "input" side of the converter. Make sure to splice into the wires because cutting them will cut power to your other lights. The green and yellow wires coming from the "output" side of the converter wires into the new amber light. The white from the converter is the ground wire. You do not need the red wire from the converter so tuck that away.
I have attached the amber lights we carry with turn functions. Please keep in mind this converter does not work with LED lights.
