When you’re towing long distances or running loaded down in hot conditions, this tire is made to handle it. The Karrier ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire carries a Load Range D rating with an 8-ply design and supports up to 2,540 lbs at 65 psi. With its M speed rating (81 mph) and DOT compliance, it’s a solid choice for steady highway towing without worrying about heat buildup or stability.
Slippery pavement and wet boat ramps don’t faze this tire. Its 5-rib tread pattern spreads the load evenly for smooth wear, while silica-infused tread compound and angled sipes help resist hydroplaning. Whether the road is dry pavement or damp asphalt, it tracks straight and grips predictably for a safe, stable ride.
Unlike bias tires that can build up heat on long runs, this radial design uses cords positioned at 90 degrees to the direction of travel. That layout reduces internal friction and rolling resistance for cooler operation, longer tread life, and better handling at higher speeds. It delivers a smooth, quiet ride that feels planted even when the trailer is fully loaded.
This tire isn’t just built tough—it’s backed to prove it. You get a 5-year limited warranty along with a 1-year worry-free guarantee that replaces the tire at no cost if it’s damaged within the first year. That kind of coverage adds peace of mind when you’re logging serious miles.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today I'm gonna take a look at this Kenda Karrier ST225/75R15 radial trailer tire in a Load Range D. This is an ST tire, which stands for special trailer tire. It has the study sidewall so that it can handle heavy loads and it created specifically for trailers. It's not intended for use on other vehicles.
The tire itself is a Kenda Karrier special trailer radial tire. It has the steel belts and the polyester plies which combine for superior function and long life. The tread on it is a silica infused tread. And if you look at the tread blocks you'll see the cuts or the openings, those are sipes which reduce hydroplaning. This tire has excellent handling in off-pavement situations.
It is an ST tire. It does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation, specifications. The wheel size this will fit on is 15 inches by five inches wide, 15 inches by 5 1/2 inches wide, and 15 inches by six inches wide. The tire size, which will be stamped on the sidewall, ST, for special trailer, 225/75R15. R means that it's a radial tire.
Section width, 8.6 inches. Overall diameter from the bottom to the top when it's inflated is 28.5. The tire is a Load Range D, which means it's an 8 ply rated tire. It has a maximum load capacity of 2,540 pounds at 65 psi. And the last thing I do wanna mention is, now that trailer tires do come with speed ratings, and they stamp it on the sidewall, but it is a letter designation, and where you'll find that is right after the tire size, two numbers for the load index and then the letter M.
Speed Rating M will mean it has an 81 mile per hour speed rating. But that's gonna do it for a look at the Kenda Karrier ST 225/75R15 radial trailer tire in a Load Range D.

One year later and the tires still look nearly new. I’ve hit a number of deep pot holes at 45 mph+ and no visible damage to the tires. The trailer still tracks the same as the first day they were installed. I will be buying these tires for my 25 foot travel trailer when the old ones were out.

The trailer is parked, undergoing renovation. So no miles have been put on the tires.
