Does the Angle At Which the Curt Echo Trailer Brake Controller Is Mounted Matter
Updated 03/11/2019 | Published 03/09/2019 >
Question:
With the Curt Echo, does it allow for different orientations of the plug? I plan to purchase it to work with multiple vehicles, including our RV which has the 7 way plug facing perpendicular to the long axis. Thanks for you advice.

The orientation/angle of the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 does not matter. We have tested it on vehicles with 7-way's oriented/angled in all different directions and it has performed flawlessly. Therefore, you should not have any issues whatsoever transferring the Curt Echo no matter the position of the 7-way trailer connector. I confirmed this with my contact at Curt as well.
I have attached a photo for you of the controller being used at rough a 45 degree angle but your perpendicular 7-way will not matter either. When I spoke with Curt they said they have used them with in-bed 7-ways without issues so you will be totally fine with your perpendicular 7-way.
