Question:
Thanks for the reply. Some have said that the 7 pin plug has to be activated by a Porsche dealer, do you know anything about that? Also I assume the Curt plugs into the same socket that I use now for an adapter, that adapter has a 4 plug connection for trailer lights, is it correct that the Curt replaces that 4 pin adapter?

The factory tow package on your 2013 Porsche Cayenne Diesel will have the 7-way you need for the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller - Wireless # C51180. This brake controller will simply plug into your Cayenne and then the trailer will connect the controller. This brake controller will utilize Bluetooth connection to utilize a mobile app on a smart phone or tablet for settings and brake controller manual override function. If for some reason the mobile device loses power and becomes disconnected, the trailer brakes will still function based on the last setting used so you will not lose trailer braking.
I've attached a couple videos to further assist.
