Question:
Hi, Im running BFG KO2s at 225/65R17, would the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains - Ladder Pattern - Twist Links - 1 Pair, Item # TC1142 be recommended to fit on the rear wheels given the clearance and wheel well width? Thanks.

Expert Reply:
The Titan chains part # TC1142 that you referenced do fit the tire size 225/65R17 that you have. These are Class S compatible which means you only need 15 mm of clearance between the tire sidewall and the frame. This is most likely enough clearance but I would recommend checking the owners manual of your vehicle to determine if that would be enough. For maximum clearance the best set is the Konig K-Summit Chains part # TH02230K66. These actually don't go over the sidewall at all so they don't require any clearance. These for sure would work.
