Question:

We have a 1998 jimmy,no brake control just abandoned cut off 4 blade. Can I install the 37185 with the black running to the fuse box with the other 2 wires capped off? Thanks use the c51185 ?

The kit you'll want instead of the # 37185 is the part # ETBC7L as it comes with the same 4-way to 7-way adapter but it also comes with the wiring needed to install a brake controller like the Curt # C51180. Since your 4-way was cut off you'd need to also cut the wire off of the 7-way adapter and hardwire the connections there.

Since 4-ways use standard colors you'd just need to wire them color for color. For butt connectors to make these connections you'll want the # DW05714 for each connection.
