Question:

My truck currently has 35s BF Goodrichs. The size of tire means I have lost some travel on the rear axle. My fifth wheel has a 1,850 pound rating at the box. I do not want my truck to sag and possibly hit the sidebody on a bump. I have heard great things about the sumosprings, but I am unsure which would work. The yellow or black. And do the really eliminate sag? Also, I been looking at airbags, part #AL88396. Would those airbags be compatible with the Reese system? Thank you for any help/guidance.

Yes, suspension enhancements such as the SumoSprings Helper Springs and the Air Lift LoadLifter Air Helper Springs will help to minimize vehicle sag. They do this by transferring the pin weight of the trailer more towards the front of the vehicle which helps dramatically to improve braking, increase stability, and prolong the life of your existing suspension components.

The main difference between the SumoSprings Helper Springs and the Air Lift LoadLifter Air Helper Springs is that the SumoSprings are maintenance free (pro) but non adjustable (con) whereas the Air Lift LoadLifter Air Helper Springs are adjustable (pro) but require maintenance (con). I personally like airbags more but if you are only going to be towing your trailer a few times a year then the upgraded jounce springs will suffice.

For a set of upgraded jounce springs, I recommend the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs part # SSR-114-54. For a set of airbags, the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs part # AL88396 will fit and work well for you. You may also be interested in a compressor kit, the Air Lift Load Controller Compressor System part # AL25856 but it is not required.
