Recommended Trailer Hitch for a 2017 Jeep Renegade

Question:

I am looking to buy a trailer hitch for my 2017 Jeep renegade. The hitch I’m looking at is 40 inches bolt to bolt and 42 inches out to our overall.the hitch doesn’t have a code on it to look it up it the guy says it will for my car but I want to make sure. How do I measure my car to make sure it will fit?

I would love to help but there would be no way for me to verify that the trailer hitch you are looking at is correct for your 2017 Jeep Renegade. However, I can say that the correct hitch for your Renegade should measure 36" apart on center between the two horizontal bolt holes and 40 apart outside to outside between the two vertical bolt holes. If you take a look at the attached photo you will see what holes on the vehicle that the trailer hitch utilizes that way you can measure to be certain.

For your Renegade, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76021 because it has a 2" receiver tube opening which will be important if you are towing a trailer and it will allow for a much greater variety of hitch mounted accessories to be used. I have attached an install video of the hitch for you as well as a photo of it installed. I can confirm that this trailer hitch is an exact fit.
