Question:
I have a 2016 Jeep LImited Renegade. I need to figure out a way to haul my bikes. Is this product the best option for me? I do not want to put bikes on the roof rack. I want to be able to buy a bike rack that can hold 4 adult bikes. I will not be pulling a camper or anything like that. Thank you. If you are wanting to carry 4 adult bikes with your 2016 Jeep Renegade then a Class III trailer hitch receiver, like the Draw-Tite # 76021 you reference, is the best way to go. Although this trailer hitch has a tongue weight rating of 675 lbs, I took a look at the online version of your owner's manual and on page 421 it states that the max tongue weight is 200 lbs. The weight of your bike rack and bikes must not exceed this.
Since you have a lower tongue weight capacity I recommend using a hanging style bike rack. These tend to be much lighter than the platform options which also makes them easier to install and store. The Yakima RidgeBack # Y02458 is a great option because it can carry up to 150 lbs combined and has cradles that help with sway.
If any of your bikes have an alternative frame that doesn't have a horizontal cross tube like a traditional man's bike then an adapter bar like part # UB01 is recommended. This will help keep your bike level and increase ground clearance.
Attached is an installation video of the trailer hitch as well as a review video of the RidgeBack for you to reference.
