Question:
I bought the 40975 from you without really seeing it was truck specific, I have a 2002 ranger that has been wired for and has a 7 way plug, I bought the plug 40975 to replace the plug I already have cause of the nice way it has an adapter installed for 4 way also. I would like to keep the plug as its unique and what I want, so my question is will the part pk11998 work as a pigtail and the color wires line up correctly? Thanks

Yes, you can use the 4 Foot Pigtail Wiring Harness, # PK11998, with the Pollak 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket, # HM40975. The two parts are compatible. Please note the wire color codes on the product page for the pigtail. Use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to determine the functions on the truck wiring when connecting the pigtail. I have included the pigtail colors/functions below:
Red - Left Turn and Stop
White - Ground
Blue - Electric Brakes
Green - Right Turn and Stop
Black - Battery
Brown - Running Lamps
Yellow - Backup Lamps
