Troubleshooting Brake Lights that Activate When Running Lights Come On

Why is brake lights already lit up when lights are on at nihht and in the day with lights out the brake light work when applied

Expert Reply:
You have a short between the running light and stop/turn circuits of your trailer wiring (if issue is on trailer, if on vehicle then it's the vehicle wiring with a short). You'd need to go over the wiring of the circuits to see where the short is and fix as needed.
