Question:
Can any of these compressors be installed in the engine bay carpartment. ie: whats the temp range before any type of damage occurs to the compressor

I spoke with my contact at Air Lift regarding installing their compressors in the engine bay compartment. He stated that they do not recommend doing this with any of their compressors as the heat from the engine will likely cause damage to the unit or best case scenario would drastically shorten its lifespan. He said that there is not a specific temperature range that the compressor can handle. This is also the case with the Firestone compressors that we carry.
The Air Lift WirelessONE Compressor System # AL25980 that you were looking at is a great choice. Its wireless hand-held controller will let you easily adjust the air springs from inside or outside the cab. We have found that a good install location for the compressor is on the inboard side of the truck frame under the cab.
