Question:
Hello, I have a few questions about doing an electric over hydraulic disc conversion on my trailer. I am desperately tired of constantly maintenancing electric drum trailer brakes. The setup I run is a 2016 Ford F 350 and a 2014 Kaufman 3 car wedge with Lippert 10K Axels x2. Truck GVW 14,000 lb trailer GVW 21,000 lb... The truck has an integrated trailer braking system and has an option for Electric hydraulic. So my main question is there such a complete conversion kit for a trailer of this length and size to use disc brake. My secondary question is do I need to install an aftermarket brake controller, or is the trucks integrated system sufficient? I so greatly appreciate any help. Thank you very much for your time.

Yes, we have everything you need to convert the electric drum brakes on your 2014 Kaufman Car Wedge Trailer to electric over hydraulic disc brakes. In order to do this you are going to need disc brake assemblies, trailer hubs, brake lines, and an electric over hydraulic actuator.
For the disc brake assemblies you will want to use the Kodiak Disc Brakes part # K2R1058D11DAC. You will need one kit per axle. For the trailer hubs you will want to use the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly part # 8-288-3UC1. You will need two of these per axle. Please note that you need to reuse the oil seal you have now as the one included with this kit is slightly off. For the brake line kit, we have the HydraStar Hydraulic Brake Line Kit part # HS496-252 which fits trailers up to 25' long. You will only need one of these kits. For an electric over hydraulic actuator I recommend the HydraStar Vented Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator part # HS381-8067 which is currently the best on the market in my opinion.
If the factory integrated brake controller you have now has an electric over hydraulic setting then you should be fine but if for some reason it does not work then we have the HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Adapter Module for Ford part # HBA-CAM. You will not need a new aftermarket brake controller. I have attached review videos for you as well.
