Question:
What trailer hitch do you recommend as the best option for my 2018 Subaru Outback wagon? It's the 3.6R Limited.

Expert Reply:
The trailer hitch I highly recommend for your 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon 3.6R Limited is the Draw-Tite # 76227 because unlike other hitches that fit your car, the Draw-Tite does NOT require drilling and as you can see by the accompanying photo one of our customers took of this hitch on their '18 Outback it has a very clean look with a hidden crosstube.
For wiring which will give you a 4-way connector and allow you to power your trailer's lights you need Wiring Harness # 118467 (which fits all '18 Outbacks with the exception of the Sport models). I also recommend checking out Ball Mount Kit # 989900, which is for 2” hitches and may fulfill your towing needs in one tidy package; two ball mounts - one with a 3/4” rise or 2” drop and the other with a 2-3/4” rise or 4” drop - a 1-7/8” hitch ball, a 2” hitch ball, and a pin and clip.
You can use the link to the help article on ball mounts I've added to determine if this kit will give you the correct amount of drop or rise. I've also attached a link to our pages with each of our ball mounts and hitch balls for you to check out.
