Question:
Looking at buying this hitch to put on a 28foot Airstream, max trailer weight of 7800lbs. Tongue weight of 950. Pulling with a 2017 F250 with distance from ground to bottom of 2.5inch receiver at 18 inches. I have several friends using these and all say use the 1000 bars. Is the 7 hole shank the correct shank for this application. Ground to top of coupler on the Airstream is 21.25 inches. Thanks

When measuring for the correct weight distribution shank, you need to measure from the ground to the top of the inside edge on your truck's trailer hitch receiver, not the bottom. With that being said I can assume that the above distance on your truck is around 20-1/2". Therefore, you need a weight distribution shank with a rise of 3/4". The 7-hole shank included with the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control part # BXW1000 has up to an 8" rise so there won't be any issues.
I personally would use the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control part # BXW1506 instead as it will give you more room for error but the choice is up to you. It is always better to be on the lower end of a system than the high end if the middle cannot be obtained. Don't forget the hitch ball part # 19286 and adapter part # BX88187.
