Expert Reply:
If you are using an aftermarket trailer hitch on your 2012 Ford F-250 with the 6.2L V8 engine then some will have a higher tongue weight and gross trailer weight rating if used with a weight distribution system like the TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum Trailer Hitch Receiver part # TLF1008-30. However, if you are referring to the factory trailer hitch then no the tongue weight and gross trailer weight rating will not increase with a weight distribution system.
With that being said when using an aftermarket trailer hitch, you will still be limited by the tongue weight capacity of the vehicle which ranges from 1,230 lbs - 1,500 lbs depending on options. Although a weight distribution system will not really increase the tongue weight capacity of your F-250 it will help with trailer sway which can be a major issues on certain trailers. If you would like for a recommendation on a weight distribution system then please let me know you total tongue weight which is the tongue weight of the loaded ready to tow trailer plus any cargo stored behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. If not I have attached a list of our options for you as well.
