How Should Ports of Valterra RV Water Tank # R8036 be Opened

Question:
When you punch out the ports for additional fittings, how are you able to retrieve the loose pieces of ABS?

You'd actually want to drill out the fill ports on the Valterra RV Water Tank # R8036 and not punch them out. You'd then want to rinse the tank out to get all of the debris out from the drilling.
