Lippert Jack Motor Keeps Running But Leg Stops Moving When Leg Hits the Ground
Updated 08/21/2018 | Published 08/18/2018 >
Question:
My jack motor works when I have no tension. As soon as it hits the ground the shaft that controls the stabilizer arms stops turning. I can still hear the motor turning though. I have check the gears and are not damaged. I don’t see that it works off a clutch system. Again the motor sounds like it’s still turning but with any kind of load up or down the arms will not move.

It sounds like your power source isn't sending enough power to your jack. Check your battery to make sure that it is completely charged and that it is not bad. There is enough power to operate the leg until there is a load. Since the jack will draw more power when under a load, you not getting enough power would explain why this is the case.
If your power source is good then it is also possible that your jack is not rated high enough for your trailer. Be sure that the weight rating of your jack exceeds the tongue weight of your loaded trailer.
