What Tire Pressure Should I Use on the Tires That Come With the Yakima Easy Rider Trailer
Updated 05/02/2020 | Published 04/30/2020 >
Question:
I just purchased and assembled my easy rider trailer and I want to know if the tires need to be inflated to 80PSI which it says on my VIN plate. It seems like a large amount of air for such a small tire. Thank you for your help.

Helpful Expert Reply:
Yes. The tires on the Yakima Easy Rider Double Decker Trailer # Y08129 do need to be inflated to 80psi when cold. When it comes to trailer tires, they're designed to be load bearing, so inflating them to the prescribed psi enables them to hold the maximum load. This also reduces the chances for heat related malfunctioning that can occur when they're under-inflated. These tires are designed to withstand that amount of pressure, so there's nothing to worry about.
