Question:
Is their a harnness to plug in for trailer breaks on 2002 doge ram 1500
asked by: Kenley
Expert Reply:
There are plug-in brake controller adapters for your 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 but only for certain brake controllers and if you have a factory trailer connector. If the above is true then please let me know what brake controller you have and I will be glad to see if we have the correct plug-in brake controller adapter for you. For example, if you have the ever popular Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90885 then you will need to use the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # 3020-P.
If your 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 did not come with a factory trailer connector then regardless of which brake controller you have there will not be a plug-in brake controller adapter and you will need to hardwire one in using the following. You will need a 4-way like the Upgraded Circuit Protected Tail Light Converter Hardwire Kit part # 119178KIT and a 4 to 7-way adapter like the Brake Controller Install Kit part # ETBC7.
I have attached our help article which explains all of this for you as well.
