Question:
I dont see a 4 pin port under my Durango dash board. There is a much larger one hard mounted just to the left of my steering coolumn, but it does not match up. So you have any pictures of where the port is on a Dodge Durango 2001. It has the factory installed tow package.

If your 2001 Dodge Durango has the factory installed 7-way trailer connector on the rear bumper, the port for the brake controller should be located near the emergency brake pedal. I am sending a video link of a brake controller installation on a 2003 Dodge Dakota and at the 45 second mark it shows the location of the brake controller port under the dash that should help you locate the port on your vehicle.
You can check the port with a circuit tester to see if one of the pins supplies 12 volt and if another pin is working when the brake is applied. If it is functional then you will be able to plug your Adapter, # 3020-P, into that port and connect the other end to your brake controller.
If your Durango does not have the 7-way trailer connector or the port you tested is not working you would need the Brake Controller 7 & 4 Way Installation Kit, # ETBC7, which will include all the parts and hardware necessary to install your brake controller including 4 and 7-way trailer connector.
I am sending a video link of a brake controller installation on a 2006 Durango that shows the # ETBC7, Kit being installed.
