According to the owner's manual of your 2004 Buick Rainier your vehicle can tow a trailer with a maximum weight of 5,500 lbs to 6,700 lbs depending on your engine and if it is 2WD or AWD; you can find this information on page 4-55 of the manual. According to my research a 2005 Jayco Feather Sport has a GVWR of 3,750 lbs so it would seem you would be fine but you will need to verify all information in your respective manuals to make sure.

Your Rainier should have a hitch and factory wiring already so you would only need a ball mount, hitch ball and pin and clip. In order to choose the correct ball mount, there are a couple measurements you'll need to take. First, make sure both your vehicle and trailer are parked on level ground; you'll then want to measure from the ground to the top of the inside of your hitch receiver. Next, measure from the ground to the bottom of your trailer's coupler and find the difference between the two measurements.

If the height of your hitch is greater, you will need a ball mount with that amount of drop. If the height of the coupler is greater, you'll need a ball mount with that amount of rise. For example, if the top of the hitch on your vehicle measured 12 inches and the bottom of your coupler measured 10 inches, you would need a ball mount with 2 inches of drop such as the Curt # C45030.
