Question:

I have a 2009 Hyundai Sonata, single exhaust. The video shows an installation on a 2010, and mentions that you shouldnt have to the exhaust to attach the passenger side of the hitch. Im just wondering if you can confirm that for my 2009 model. Im hoping I dont have to mess with the exhaust. Ill take a look under the car, myself, to see if I can tell...but I wonder if you folks already have first-hand knowledge about it. Thanks for a great website, by the way!!

Installation on a 2009 Hyundai Sonata with single exhaust is going to be nearly identical as in the video showing installation of Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 24757, on a 2010 model. The two different years are part of the same generation and the hitch attaches the same way in both models.

This is quite possibly the easiest installation I have seen for a hitch. Even the instructions, which I have linked for you, have just 2 steps. Neither our installers nor the hitch manufacturer mention anything about the exhaust needing to be lowered. So what you see in the video is exactly how it should go at home for you.

This hitch comes with a pin and clip. You will need a ball mount. For a ball, use # 19256 (1-7/8 inch diameter) or # 19258 (2 inch diameter). For trailer wiring, use T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 118433. I have included a link to the installation details and a video for the wiring as well.
