Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located inside your trunk, behind the tail lights on both the driver's side and passenger's side. You will need to remove some interior trim or carpeting to access the harness.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed within your trunk.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Circuit-Protected Tail Light Converter

A tail light converter is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. The tail light converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

This converter safeguards itself and your vehicle against possible electrical shorts and overloads with integrated short circuit protection. Just install the connector as indicated and rest assured that the wiring system of your vehicle will remain feedback-free.

Order came in a week & was packed good. Online video & instructions made it easy to follow instillation. Hitch was installed in about 40 mins with no problems. Purchased the wiring harness (118433) also & install went well too. Love the way harness plugs in & you can route the wires out of sight! Simple/clean looking set up, would recommend to anybody this etrailer hitch for this car! Thanks etrailer

by:

2009 Hyundai Sonata 3.3L. Installing this wire harness was indeed very straight forward, just unplug and plug it all back in again, I wished all wiring harnesses are like this. The video was also very well done. One thing I found out was the ground that was recommended, installing it on the screw that is part of the rear lamp housing was not a ground at all. I did find a proper ground connection just a bit down from this location, it has to black wires that is screwed into the body.

I needed this harness, a hitch, some wire and connectors to get my car set up prior to its shipment to Germany. I was on a short timeline, as the car was to be shipped in 10 days after my order. etrailer knew none of this, but an hour after I placed my order on a Sunday, a CR rep emailed me to let me know the wire (not the harness) was not available to be shipped right away and that he was working on finding some in another warehouse. What company immediately get back with the customer to let them know there's an issue with their order? Not many, I can tell you. But because etrailer did this I was able to let them know my situation and they shipped out the rest of my order, which arrived in 3 days. Everything fits perfectly and was easy to install due to the extensive "how to" information on the site. Thanks etrailer, for making my buying experience a good one!

Good Product. Needed a little persuasion to get it on, but it fit. Watch the installation video first. Trailer wiring is real simple. Used a piece of baling wire to route the left and right tail light connectors. Only had to pop loose the center piece and the tail light covers. You can cut a hole in a rubber grommet under the spare to feed the four flat connector through, and route it through the tow connector. Works great.

by:
2006 Hyundai Sonata

Installed this along with a hitch from etrailer. Installation was extremely easy, took about 30 minutes from start to verification that everything worked. Another 10 minutes to button things back up again.

I really like the video demonstrating what needed to be done.

Excellent product, excellent shipping and excellent videos!

A year out and using both hitch and wiring harness have worked flawlessly. I’ve never had to think about either one. That is a good thing.

2009 Kia Optima

Hitch and wiring harness are top shelf. Took about 35 minutes to install both on my 2009 Kia Optima. This is the 4th DrawTight hitch I have put on my vehicles. Can't go wrong with a DrawTight.

by:
2010 Hyundai Sonata

Easy to connect and worked exactly as described. Took about 10 minutes to complete. What a great product that fit exactly for my 2009 Sonata SE. So happy with this purchase and the parts are great quality. Shipping came fast with the receiver hitch and great packaging. You wont go wrong with this product.

2007 Hyundai Sonata

Don't waste a minute of your time with a competitors product. Spend a couple more (or less) bucks to buy the perfect fit with etrailer. Compared to the "universal fit" that i started with, it's only a few dollars more but is installed sooooo much easier. It literally only took a couple of minutes to install this unit. etrailer's unit is less than half the price of comparable units I found from national auto part dealers. This is a great value and a great time saver. I highly recommend it!

Quick, easy and positive installation without cutting or putting clips on wires. Fast delivery too.

After installing the hitch it was getting late but decided to have a look so I would be ready to install in the morning. Less than 10 minutes later the lighting kit was completely installed, the trim was reattached, and no wires were visible (they are tucked out of the way in the spare tire area). The video and written instructions were spot on.

by:
2009 Hyundai Sonata

The installation was very straight forward, following the instructions and viewing the video made it easy. The only change I made was to put the ground on a chassis ground near the tail light assembly rather than grounding it to the tail light assembly.

by:
Hyundai Sonata

Video instructions made it look too easy. Actual installation was as easy as the video made it look! I've owned several Draw Tite hitches and this light duty hitch for my Hyundai Sonata was of the same high quality as my heavier duty hitches.

by:

Easily installed. The video proved to be very informative and allowed quick and easy installation of the wiring harness.

by:

YES YES!Absolutely use t-one connectors. They save SO much work and hide away when you're not using the plug. Makes the connection at the lights look factory. Well worth the money and VERY easy to install .. about 30 minutes to do it right.

by:

Product was ordered in the morning and shipped same day.
Arrived safe and FAST.
Had several follow ups from the folks at Etrailer, It is quite possible I have found a comapny that remembers what it is to actually insure the customer is happy and satisfied..
I work for a Large Corp. , I see it has been forgotten in our own work and I see it at the places I service. Hurry in, get out, get paid.
etrailer is doing it right !!!

Ordered hitch, wiring harness, and hitch draw bar for my 2010 Hyndai Elantra. The installation was so straight forward that it only took 20 minutes for the whole set up. I am very pleased with the product. Etrailer's service was exceptional.

by:

Extremely easy installation and it had worked perfectly with repeated hard use. It was also very to identify which one to order for my car. The only thing I would have changed would be to purchase it sooner.

by:
2007 Hyundai Elantra

fit like a charm video was a great help only took about 10 mins to install if you pay someone to install this it would be a waste of your hard earned money its that easy will buy from etrailer anytime and have even given out your web site to my friends fast shipping also

Only problem I have is the ground connector to the trailer connector is a little tight putting together. Otherwise great product and very happy I found etrailer.com

by:

It's amazing how easy this makes wiring a trailer hitch.

by:
2010 Hyundai Elantra

Items were just as expected. The video on the website was very helpful and installation went very smoothly for me. I got just what I expected and was very pleased.

by:

This product was perfect in every way.. from the video demonstrating how to install it before you purchase to the speedy delivery and the ease of installation.
I highly recommend this quality product.

  • Hitch Recommendation for a 2007 Hyundai Elantra Sedan
I have a hitch that is confirmed to fit your 2007 Hyundai Elantra sedan, but the part # C11493 that you referenced will not fit. Instead, you would want the Draw-Tite part # 24795 as it has been confirmed to fit your vehicle. I attached an install video for this hitch for you to check out as well. This hitch does not come with a ball mount but does have a pin and clip. To complete your towing setup you may also want the part # 118433 for wiring, # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch hitch ball, and...

The main difference between the Hidden Hitch Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # 60872, and the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, part # 24795, is that the # 60872 (no longer available) has a drawbar, pin and clip included with it, whereas the # 24795 does not include those things. Aside from that, they are so similar in design that they even share the same installation instructions.
