Question:
I have a 2018 Toyota Tundra sr5 with a 10,000 pound towing capacity. The trailer I am towing is a keystone hornet 27bs, weighs about 5000 pounds. It has a hitch weight of 755 pounds. I am trying to find the correct weight distribution hitch for the truck and trailer. I was looking at the curt C17062, not sure if that is right hitch for my set up. Please advise. Thanks,

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.
For a loaded tongue weight of 755 lbs the Curt weight distribution part # C17062 that you referenced would be rated a little too high unless you were going to add some weight. It has a range of 800-1,000 lbs.
If you are sure 755 is the number the kit you'd want instead is the part # C17051 which has a range of 600-800 lbs. Curt systems have narrower ranges than most other systems. For example the Reese kit part # RP67509 has a range of 400-800 lbs or the part # RP66542 has a range of 600-1,200 lbs.
