Question:

I am looking at a boat to pull with my odyssey. The boat weights 1638 lbs. trailer weighs 550 lbs. is it too much to pull?

Your 2005 Honda Odyssey is rated for towing up to 3,500 lbs. If you don't already have the trailer hitch, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13068. This will be more than capable of towing your boat and trailer.

If you don't already have the wiring, I recommend the Curt # C56161. This harness plugs into your Honda Odyssey's electrical junction box, which is located in your rear cargo area, beneath the trim panel on the passenger's side.

Then for your ball mount, I recommend the adjustable ball mount # C45900 which will ensure you can tow your trailer level. Then you can use a hitch lock like # C23519 to further secure your investment.
