Question:
Hello, i have a malone microsport kayak trailer. I wanted to mount a tool box about 49” long to the tongue itself for storing paddles and other lightweight items. Mounted long ways or parallel on top of tongue. I believe the width of tongue is 3”. Any thoughts?

I reached out to my contact at Malone and they said adding something like that would not be something they can comment on. They can only approve their own accessories, so adding something custom like that can void your warranty.
The tongue us 2x3 inches so your load support would not be very strong. My recommendation is to use the Storage Trunk for Malone MicroSport and XtraLight Trailers - Hard Shell - 3.7 cu ft # MPG481 for your storage needs and then use a paddle carrier like the Rhino-Rack Multipurpose Holders for Roof Rack Crossbars # RRRMPHU.
