Question:

HELP!!!! What items would I need to flat tow a 2017 dodge ram 1500 eco-diesel behind a 2019 Coachmen Mirada. I already have a blue ox tow bar, so I know ill need the Blue Ox base plate. Id like to do the Stay in Play DUO, so , what else? Thanks

You are on the right track! The SMI DUO part # SM99251 is the best supplemental braking system to use so it's a great choice. The Blue Ox base plate kit you'd want is the part # BX1986 which is a confirmed fit and will be a great choice. I attached an install video for you to check out as well. This will work great with your Blue Ox tow bar like the # BX7380.

For lighting you can use the diode kit, # RM-15267, and not have to worry about cutting into the taillight housing. This will splice into your taillight wiring to allow your tow vehicle to control the taillight assemblies of the towed vehicle. This comes with a round 6-way connector that you will install on the front of your towed vehicle and enough coiled wire to go from there to the RV.

Most likely you will also need a high low adapter so that the tow bar will be level when you are flat towing. I attached a link to a page that has all of the ones we carry.
