Recommended Distance Between Tandem Axle Trailer Tires

Question:

When the boat is off axel they measure perfect both sides but when the boat is put on trailer wheels move closer about 5 inches.

Sounds like you are asking about clearance between tandem axle tires. Typically you want at least 2 inches between the tires without a load and when fully loaded at least 1/2 inch.

If your question is related to alignment you'd be best served finding a shop near you who can align trailer suspension and have them take a look.
