Trailer Lift Kit for 2017 Sundowner Tandem-Axle Horse Trailer

Im wanting to raise my tandem axle 2017 Sundowner 3 Horse Trailer 3, the GVWR plate states I have 5200# axles. They are torsion bar axles but I cannot find a mfg plate, tag or stamp to verify the axles are dexter. Any suggestions?

The key to installing a lift kit on a tandem trailer with torsion axles is confirming that the axles use side-mounted brackets. Torsion axles that mount from the top cannot use lift kits.

We offer 2-7/8-inch Lift Kit # K71-724-02 for # 11 Torflex axles rated from 4,100-6,000-lbs. These can be installed so long as your axles do not use 3-inch tall brackets.

Often Dexter stamps the axle tubes with the brand and part number and this stamping could easily be obscured by dirt.

The Torflex Lift Kit #K71-707-02 is for #10 Torflex axles. From what I could find on your Airstream Flying Cloud 28 RBT, it looks to most likely have #11 Torflex axles, which would mean that you want the Torflex Lift Kit #K71-724-02. I do recommend…

Hey Sam, so from previous customers we have found that your Airstream Flying Cloud 30FBQ has the Dexter Torflex #11 axles so for a lift kit you'd want the part #K71-724-02 which will give you a lift of 2-7/8 inches.
