Question:
I have a 2009 avalanche and am trying to install a Reese brake controller , after watching many of your guys install videos etc Ive come to the conclusion that the factory brake brake harness that should be up under the dash is missing from the vehicle or was never equipped even though it has the tow package , my question is do you carry a plug in harness that I can buy to get this controller installed ? I have a empty slot in the junction box next to the steering column and I believe thats where it was originally plugged in at . Any help would be great and much appreciated , thanks !

The wiring harness used to install a brake controller on your 2009 Chevrolet Avalanche would have been present regardless of whether or not your truck came with a factory trailer connector. If you take a look at the :20 mark in the attached video, the location of the wires will be revealed. Please note that these are blunt cut wires taped to an existing plug. In order to install your Reese brake controller you will also need the pigtail part # 20127 if you do not already have one.
If you cannot locate the wiring bundle for the brake controller then your only option would be to run the wires for the controller using what is included with part # ETBC7 as there is not a plug-in option available. We do not recommend tapping into the junction box as you mentioned.
