Question:
2-part question: 1. I have an old Adventurer Box can this u-bolt hardware be used on same...providing I make the appropriate holes...?. 2. Will the u-bolts fit on my 2011 Subaru Outback Factory rack the one with the infamous swing-arms.?

You probably already know that the correct hardware for the Thule Adventurer cargo box is the QM3 hardware, # TH04997. Provided that the crossbar diameter is no larger than 3-5/8 inches, this hardware will fit the crossbars on the 2011 Subaru Outback.
The QuickSnap mounts have been discontinued and would not have fit without modifications to your box.
