In order to use the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System part # SM99251 on your 2017 Chevrolet Spark you are going to want to disconnect the positive battery terminal with a battery disconnected like part # RM-766. The negative battery terminal on the battery will need to remain intact in order for the SMI Stay-IN-Play to function properly.
I have attached a sample install on the battery disconnect for you as well.
