hi there do i still have to use the reforcement plate that came with the box for this th05820 kit to work?

I believe that you will still need to use the reinforcement plates that came with the Evolution cargo box when using the discontinued EasySnap Mounting Kit 5820 you referenced. The plates should look like the ones pictured in Replacement Hardware Kit, # TH04997, or it will look like # TH10378.
