Question:

I have a 2017 Nissan Titan XD Diesel with 6.5 ft bed with gooseneck. Ive been told a few different things on which fifth wheel system I need fromRV dealers. Slider or no slide. One dealer even told us there was no way we could ever haul a fifth wheel

Since you have a short bed truck (shorter than 8 feet), you have to use a slider hitch to give you turning clearance otherwise you'll have clearance issues with the cab of your truck and the nose of your trailer. Exceptions to this are if the trailer has a tapered nose designed for this scenario (you'd know if the trailer had this), or if the trailer has a Reese Revolution pin box installed on it.

So for your 2017 Nissan Titan XD that has the factory gooseneck hitch what I would recommend is the Demco auto slider hitch part # DM8550034 which will automatically slide as you make tight turns eliminating the hassle of operating a slider. The adapter you need to fit this in your truck bed is the part # DM6200.

With those two parts you'd be set to tow a fifth wheel trailer!
