Question:
I have a 2008 F150 with factory tow package and it has the 7 wire round / 4 wire flat deal on the back. All connectors are dead except for the live all the time 12v for the relay that controls the electric brakes that I fixed I would assume.I have broken/ corroded/ disintegrated connections in that rear factory wiring setup. All my lights work on the truck so I was wondering if I could do the plug and play to bypass the factory garbage? If not Ill do the hard wire option please let me know as I need to do something for next weekends snowmobiling trip to TugHill NY

If all your connections are bad, you may just have a bad connector and need the replacement # HM40975 and a few fuses. If you've already used a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to check the wiring functions individually and the fuses outlined in your owners manual, then you can Plug-N-Tow Vehicle Wiring Harness # 40185 or if those plugs aren't working either the hardwire # 18252.
Once you have a 4-way, you can use the Hopkins Adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole and 4-Pole # 37185 and simply splice into the 12V and brake controller functions you have fixed.
I've attached an article on wiring to assist. I recommend using dielectric grease # 11755 to keep moisture and debris out of your connections so you don't have further issues.
