What to Consider for Fifth Wheel Hitch Height for Towing Trailer Level
Updated 01/30/2018 | Published 01/28/2018 >
Question:
I just got my 2017 F250 and the bed rails are 60inch high. I am looking at getting my first 5th wheel. Looking at the Jayco 30.5 MLOK HT. Just wondering what I need to do to make the 5th wheel level? I have the 8ft bed with factory installed 5th wheel prep.

Without knowing the pin box plate height of the trailer you are considering it's hard for me to give you a super solid answer on whether or not you could tow the trailer level without issue.
But you want to keep in mind that you want at least 6 inches of clearance from the bed rails of the truck to the overhang of the trailer and you need the trailer to sit as level as possible.
The B and W Companion hitch part # BWRVK3300 does fit your factory rail kit in your 2017 Ford F-250 and this is a very popular option. It is height adjustable from 16-3/4 inches to 18-3/4 inches and works great for nearly all applications.
If you can get me the height from the ground to the bed floor of your truck as well as the height of your trailer from the ground to the pin box plate and the overhang of the trailer I'll see what would work best.
