You don't necessarily need an electric connector for just a bike rack, but if you plan on using any accessories that would draw power for lights then I recommend installing the Tekonsha T-One # 118744. This connects to the lighting on your Impreza via the connectors behind your tail lights and then will draw power from the hot lead that is run to your battery.
