Curt part # C56080 is a 7-foot extension cable in the 7-way RV blade style connector format.

The male plug end is just like what many trailers with electric brakes are equipped with; and the female socket end is the same as a 7-way socket that would be found on a vehicle that is set up for towing such a trailer. This item carries trailer lighting, trailer braking power and 12V auxiliary power signals from a vehicle to a trailer.

This part works as an extension cable for any application using these popular connectors. For instance, if the plug on a trailer was a bit too short to connect to the vehicle (and still have enough slack for making turns) you could simply add the extension. It could also be used when towing a 5th wheel or gooseneck type trailer with a vehicle that does not have a separate wiring setup in the truck bed.
