Recommended Replacement Axle, Hubs and Brakes for FLOE 22 Foot Enclosed 4 Place Snowmobile Trailer

Question:

Picked up a 1997 22foot FLOE enclosed 4 place snowmobile trailer and want to replace both axles. Previous owner converted to e-brake, but upon trade-in, dealer advised him to replace axles due to age and rust, so Im trying to determine what axle/brake and degree down I need to get. Nameplate is partially missing, but GVWR is 4029#. The attached pic shows about 30 degrees down, and this is with the trailer 1370#, enclosure 570# and two snowmobiles total 900# front loaded. From the load on the axle, is it a 45 degree down, and with the load make it to 30? Common offerings are 22 or 45, but II have seen some 30 degree down offerings. You can see the mounting bracket has no gap, tight to the top of the axle. What axle-drum=brake combo do you recommend I purchase? Thanks in advance!

To replace your tandem torsion axles on your 1997 22 foot FLOE Enclosed 4 place snowmobile trailer, I recommend the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System w Electric Brake Hubs - Straight Spindle - 3,500 lbs # A35RS545E. These assemblies will mount directly to your trailer frame and will give you the suspension, brakes, and length of axle needed. The only thing you need to do is add a 2 inch square tube to the integrated holes of the assemblies cut to length for your trailer.

I've attached a video to assist. Two of these systems can be used for your tandem axle application.
