I take my trailer in the hills and the ground is not always level. How well does this system work on unlevel ground?

The Ultra-Fab 5th Wheel King Pin Tripod Stabilizer # UF19-950001 (and the similar but lighter aluminum model # UF19-950200) are not specifically meant for use on uneven ground but a 3-point support will naturally provide good stability.
