Troubleshooting Fitment On My 2022 Ram 2500 Timbren SES Kit

Updated 10/02/2025 | Published 10/01/2025

Question:

I installed the Timbren TDRTT3500E kit tonight. The passenger side has about a 3/8inch gap below the spring and axle. The driver side about a 1/16inch at best. This does not seem right, and the truck is brand new so I highly doubt this is a suspension issue. Also the instructions and install video seem to contradict each other. The video show that the flat side of the bracket should be poined out towards the tire. The install instructions show the opposite based on the hole offset. Ive put them on both ways and it seems that the straight side of the bracket should be on the frame side. This way the spring will have the most contact with the axle pad. I really wish I knew which way this is actually intended to be installed.

Hey Justin,

In terms of what is the right way to install them, the flat side should be towards the frame like you said. The instructions do not do the best at easily showing that. The flat side should be towards the frame. In terms of the gap for this kit specifically # TDRTT3500E there can be anywhere from 1/2" - 1-1/2" gap between the spring and axle when unloaded.

If you used any of the rubber spacers in the kit you would just need to remove one to get to that 1/2 since yours are on the short size.

Nick, Thanks for getting back to me. I did not install the spacers, so something is out of whack. I did contact Timbren directly and they are sending me shorter mounts so that the stops work properly. Also, thank you for the clarification on the installation.

@Justin Of Course! I am glad Timbren was able to help you out. It was either the washer or something wrong with the mounts. Either way I am glad they got you all set, you'll have to let me know how those shorter mounts workout.
