The Curt Sway Control Hitch Ball # C40093 referenced in your question can indeed be used with the Reese Friction Sway Control Kit # 83660. This hitch ball features the needed 1-1/4 inch ball and 5/8 inch shank diameter for it to be compatible and work well.
