I want to mount behind the cab on drivers side not behind the fender

To fit a wheel well toolbox on the driver side in front of the wheel well you'd have to go with one intended for the passenger side since you'd have to flip the box around. This will allow you to open the box easier and not have to reach over the open lid. The lid will open up to you then. If you have a long bed truck the part # DZ94 would work well for you.
If you have a short bed though you may not have the needed clearance between the wheel well and the front of the box.
