Question:

I have a 1993 Chevy Cheyenne k1500 1/2 ton pickup with a 5 ft.bed. I need an installation kit for it.i already have the fifth wheel hitch along with the rails..what I do not have are the mounting brackets that bolt to the frame and any other hardware I may need along with do it yourself installation instructions

We show that the stock beds for the 1993 Chevy K Series 1500 were either 6-1/2-foot or 8-foot. The short bed will require a slider type hitch like # RP30051 while the long bed can use a fixed 5th wheel hitch like # RP30047 since it will already have enough turning clearance.

We do not recommend mixing components from different makers when installing a 5th wheel rail set-up. Although rails are standardized there can still be fit issues between rails from one maker and frame brackets from another so I recommend using a complete new install kit to avoid any potential compatibility issues.

You can use the low-cost universal-fit base rail kit # RP30035 from Reese. For an in-bed wiring harness use part # 20023. Instructions for the rail kit are linked for you.
